Today is a B day

Attention 5th, 6th and 7th graders: If you're interested in competitive running, then the cross country team need you!  Cross country is a fall sport, but the sign process has now begun.  Sign up information can be found in the office or outside Mr. Crooks' room.  If you have any questions, please stop by and see Mr. Crooks in room 220.

Yesterday, the A tennis team tied Coldwater 4-4.  Celia Kyger won in singles with the doubles teams of Ryan Dull/Wyatt Szerecko, Shane Randall/Kevin Fronsman, and Ethan Newman/Liam Mackey all winning their matches.  Coach McManus wants to thank all the students who braved this cold spring to play tennis.  He hopes everyone enjoyed playing again or learning a new sport and looks forward to seeing the 8th graders on the court as a high schooler and the 7th graders on the courts next spring!

The B team fought hard last night in their last match and beat Coldwater. Double team winners included Brock Messenger & Aydien Holley, Kyle Dull & Lachlan Morrison, Delanie Schidler and Sofia King, Paige Thompson & Emily Katz, Hailie Szerieko and Olivia Philips, Ashley Rowlings & Marlee Cronkite, and lastly Ashley Burgdorf & Shelby Randall. Great job to the entire team, it was great to see all the improvements in everyone throughout the season even with all the crazy weather we had!

Last night the boys track team took 3rd place in the league meet.

Some top place finishers were...Kaden Watson took 1st in the high jump.

Ryan Wallace and Mason Oaks took 1st and 2nd in the 400 m dash.

Logan Wood placed 1st in the 800m run.

And last the 4x400 team of Adam Torres, Mason Oaks, Johnny Ramos and Ryan Wallace took 1st place.

Great season to all the boys track team.

HCMS students participated in an online game called The Stock Market Game.  The students are given a predetermined amount of money to use to trade stocks over a 6 month period. Seventh grade students Ethan Kline and Sam Sprague finished 2nd out of 208 teams in the region and 4th out of 618 teams in the state, including high school students. Their portfolio gained 17.67% and their top stock was Lending Tree, Inc. which gained a whopping 22%.  Good Job Boys!!!

8th graders interested in trying out for the Pom Team:  there is a pre tryout clinic on May 30th and a meeting for everyone interested please go to the cafeteria at the end of announcements.

We are taking class pictures this morning!  IF you would like a keepsake copy, stop in the office with your $12 and get on the list.  You’ll want it when you graduate!

Joke of the day:
